Booking Courses are used when a Student or Teacher needs to reserve a specific Session in advance.
Before Booking can be used, the Course must have Booking enabled and its booking/cancellation timing rules configured.
Two Booking modes
The current international product supports:
- Student Booking — Students/families can book through Artstep Student;
- Teacher Booking — only Teachers or school staff make the Booking for the Student.
When a Course is configured for Teacher Booking, Students cannot book the Course themselves.
Student / family Booking
In Artstep Student, open Booking:
- select an available Course;
- select the available date and time;
- review the Session status;
- tap
Book; - confirm the Booking.
Common states include:
Book/Booking;Booked;Fully booked/Full;Closed;Cannot be scheduled;Conflict.
Booking and cancellation windows
The available Booking and cancellation windows are defined in the Course settings.
Artstep Student can show:
- how many hours before class Booking closes;
- how many hours before class cancellation is no longer allowed.
Different Courses can therefore have different Booking and cancellation windows.
Cancel a Booking
While cancellation is still allowed:
- open the booked Session;
- tap
Cancel/Cancel appointment; - confirm.
If the page shows Cannot be cancelled, the Session has entered the school's configured no-cancellation window.
Teacher Booking
In Artstep Pro or the Web Booking workflow:
- select the Booking Course / Session;
- search for and select the Student;
- review the remaining capacity;
- submit the Booking.
If the selected Students exceed the available Booking capacity, Artstep warns or blocks the reservation.
Editing a booked Session
The current Artstep Pro UI states:
If Students are already booked into a Session, that Session cannot be edited until the Student bookings are cancelled.
Handle existing Bookings before adjusting the Session.
What if the Session is full?
The current Booking workflow does not provide a Waitlist / Queue.
If a Session is fully booked, select another available Session or contact the school about another Session.
Booking and normal Attendance
The current product explicitly states that a booked Session is not handled through the normal Take Attendance workflow.
Do not use ordinary Class attendance simply to record a Booking Course. Completion and consumption should follow the Booking workflow and the school's Course rules.
