If a submitted Attendance record is incorrect, use Modify Attendance to correct it.
This is a high-impact action because it can also update the Student's Credit Consumption and Remaining Hours.
Attendance is not Credit Consumption
Keep this distinction clear:
Attendance ≠ Credit Consumption
Attendance records whether the Student was Present, on Leave or Absent.
Credit Consumption records the Credit Hours actually deducted or restored for the Session and the related Course consumption data.
The two are connected, but Take Attendance does not universally mean “deduct Credit Hours.”
Modify Attendance
Open a Session with completed Attendance and choose Modify Attendance.
Change the Student to the correct status, such as:
- Present;
- Leave;
- Absent.
Before confirming, Artstep can show the resulting Credit Hour change, such as:
No Change in Credit Hours;Deduct {n} Credit Hours;Add {n} Credit Hours;No Credit Hours Counted (Billed by Term).
What does a modification affect?
The current product explicitly states that confirming an Attendance change updates:
- the Student's class consumption record;
- Remaining Credit Hours;
- the operation log.
Related Tuition and consumption statistics can therefore change as well.
Before confirming, review both the Attendance Status and the Credit Deduction result.
By Term Students
For By Term Students, Artstep explicitly shows:
No Credit Hours Counted (Billed by Term)
Attendance is still recorded, but By Hour Credit Hour deduction logic does not apply.
Edit Credit Deduction
Where available, Edit Credit Deduction lets you adjust the deduction information for the Student in this Session.
The current system warns that after confirmation, the Session's Attendance processing will use the configured deduction rule.
The deduction also cannot exceed the Student's currently available Remaining Credit Hours.
Sessions with Make-up arrangements
If a Make-up Class has already been arranged for the original missed Session:
- cancel the Make-up arrangement before changing the original Attendance Status.
If the Make-up has already been completed:
- the current system does not allow the original Attendance Status to be changed.
Check the result
After the modification, review:
- Attendance Record;
- Remaining Hours;
- Credit Hour Consumed;
- Student Tuition / consumption data.
