Share Learning Progress with Feedback and Growth Highlights

Artstep provides two common ways to share Student learning progress with Students and families:

• Feedback — session-specific feedback for an individual Student;
• Growth Highlights — broader records of work, learning moments, classroom performance and progress.

Students and families can view the relevant content in Artstep Student.

1. Use Feedback for a Class Session

Select the Student

Open Feedback in Artstep Pro.

Select the relevant Class Session and Student, then open the Feedback page.

The current app requires a Staff account for submitting Feedback. An Admin account cannot submit Feedback directly from this page.

Current Feedback supports:

• Rating;
• Text;
• Image;
• Video;
• Audio.

Feedback Text is currently limited to 1,000 characters.

Submit Feedback

1. select the Rating;
2. enter the feedback content;
3. add Images, Video or Audio if needed;
4. save / submit.

The current client also supports editing Feedback later.

Current Feedback media limits

Current Feedback media rules include:

• up to 10 MB per Image;
• up to 9 Images + Videos in total;
• up to 3 Audio files;
• up to 20 MB per Audio file.

Video duration may vary by device or selection method. Follow the current App prompt or validation shown to you.

2. Publish Growth Highlights

Growth Highlights are useful for recording:

• strong classroom moments;
• Student work or practice results;
• progress over time;
• learning moments that are broader than one Attendance status.

Create a Growth Highlight

Open Highlights and choose Publish / Add.

1. enter the Growth content;
2. add Images / Video if needed;
3. select the Class / Students;
4. Publish.

The current page requires:

• at least one Student;
• at least one of Text, Image or Video.

Current Growth Highlights media limits

Current client configuration includes:

• up to 1,000 characters of Growth content;
• up to 10 MB per Image;
• up to 9 Images + Videos in total.

Edit and delete

When editing a Growth Highlight, the current product warns that the new content replaces the previous content.

The current edit mode does not reopen the Class / Student recipient selector. Edit is therefore for changing the published content, not redistributing the record to a different recipient group.

Deleted content cannot be recovered.

In the current Artstep Pro workflow:

a Growth Highlight uploaded by the Student cannot be deleted by staff from this entry point.

Feedback vs Growth Highlights

Use them according to the business purpose:

• feedback about a specific Student in a specific Class Session → Feedback;
• broader photos, videos, work or progress records → Growth Highlights.

The two features can be used together.
