Assignments in Artstep Pro lets Teachers assign after-class work to Classes / Students, monitor submissions and grade completed work.

Students can view their Assignments and submit work in Artstep Student.

Assign an Assignment

In Artstep Pro, open Assignments and choose Assign Assignment.

Complete:

  • Assignment Title;
  • Assignment Content;
  • the receiving Class / Students;
  • any images, videos or audio you want to include.

The current page requires:

  • a Title;
  • at least one recipient selection;
  • at least one content type: Text, Image, Video or Audio;
  • Text content is currently limited to 1,000 characters.

Supported media

Assignments in the current Artstep Pro app support:

  • Text;
  • Image;
  • Video;
  • Audio.

Current client limits include:

  • up to 10 MB per Image;
  • up to 9 Images + Videos in total;
  • up to 3 Audio files;
  • Audio is MP3 only;
  • up to 20 MB per Audio file;
  • the in-app audio recording entry currently indicates up to 3 minutes per recording.

Video duration may vary by device or selection method. Follow the current App prompt or validation shown to you. If a Video cannot be selected or submitted, use a shorter Video.

Select recipients

The Assignment workflow lets the Teacher select the relevant Class / Students.

When a Class is selected, the Assignment is distributed to the applicable Students in that Class.

Review the recipients before publishing, especially when the Teacher manages multiple Classes.

Publish the Assignment

Click Publish assignment.

The Assignment then becomes available to the Student in Assignment in Artstep Student.

When editing an existing Assignment, the current app no longer shows the Class / Student recipient selector. Edit is therefore suitable for content changes; if the original recipients are wrong, review whether a new Assignment should be created instead.

Review submission status

Assignment Details shows submission and grading progress.

Current states include:

  • Not submitted;
  • Not graded;
  • Graded.

Open a Student's submission to review the submitted work.

Grade an Assignment

For a submitted Student Assignment:

  1. open the Student's submission;
  2. click Grade;
  3. enter the grading feedback;
  4. save.

The Student's Assignment then changes to Graded.

Remind Students who have not submitted

Artstep Pro supports Assignment reminder.

The reminder is sent for Students who have not yet submitted their work.

The current app allows the Assignment reminder only once for the same Assignment. After it has been sent, the reminder action is blocked.

This Help Center does not assume one specific Push, Email or other delivery channel. The actual delivery method depends on the notification services enabled for the school.

Delete an Assignment

Use Delete carefully.

The current product explicitly warns that:

after deletion, all Students will be unable to view the Assignment.

If the content only needs correction, edit it instead of deleting and recreating it.
