A Fee Plan defines how a Course is charged when students enroll. The current international product uses two core charging models:
By HourBy Term
These models affect downstream credit hours, validity periods, attendance-related consumption and course lifecycle operations.
Add a Fee Plan
Open Course Fee in the Course details and click Add.
Configure the information required for the plan, including:
Fee Plan- Charging Method
- Course Fee
- Credit Hours or Course Duration
- Notes
- Status
By Hour
Use By Hour when students purchase and consume Credit Hours.
A By Hour Fee Plan normally includes:
- Fee Plan name
- Credit Hours
- Course Fee
The current system requires Credit Hours and total Course Fee to be greater than 0.
After enrollment, the student's purchased and remaining Credit Hours and tuition data are tracked for that Course.
By Term
Use By Term when a Course is charged for a validity period rather than by Credit Hours.
A By Term plan records the student's Course Duration / validity period instead of using Credit Hours as the charging basis.
You can configure the duration according to the school's plan, such as by month, year or another supported period.
Important: By Term students are not charged by Credit Hours for normal class consumption. Do not apply By Hour deduction rules to By Term courses.
Complimentary Hours
The ordinary Fee Plan setup primarily defines the plan name, charging method, Credit Hours / Course Duration and Course Fee.
When the school needs to grant extra hours during Enrollment / Renew, the workflow can use Complimentary Hours.
The current product explicitly states that Complimentary Hours:
- have a unit price of 0;
- are non-refundable;
- are non-transferable.
Keep Complimentary Hours conceptually separate from Paid Hours.
Edit or delete a Fee Plan
Existing Fee Plans can be edited.
Before deleting one, note that the current system states that the deleted Fee Plan can no longer be used for Course enrollment.
If students already use the plan, review the business impact before editing or deleting it.
What to do next
After the Fee Plan is ready, you can enroll students in the Course.
