Create a Class

In Class management in Artstep Web, click Add Class.

The current Add Class page includes:

  • Class
  • Course
  • Capacity
  • Teacher (optional)
  • Notes (optional)

The current page requires Capacity to be greater than 0, and Class name supports up to 24 characters.

A newly created Class starts in Pre-opening. After saving, you can continue with opening the Class, assigning Students and Scheduling.

Class Status

Current Class management includes states such as:

  • Pre-opening
  • Active
  • Closed

After the Class is opened, it becomes active and normal teaching follows the Class Schedule.

When a Class is closed, the current system states that Class information can no longer be modified and Class assignment or Scheduling can no longer be performed. Confirm that the Class is complete before closing it.

Assign Students to the Class

Open the Student section in Class Details.

The current page distinguishes:

  • Students in This Class;
  • Students Not in This Class;
  • Unassigned Students;
  • Assigned Students.

Select eligible Students and add them to the Class.

A Class can also be selected during Enrollment. When selected there, the Student is automatically added to the Class after successful Enrollment.

Which Classes can a Student join?

Artstep restricts Class selection according to the Course the Student has enrolled in.

Therefore:

A Student must be enrolled in the corresponding Course before joining a Class for that Course.

The current product also states that:

  • One-on-One Courses do not use the normal Class-selection workflow;
  • Booking Courses do not support normal Class Change.

Reassign a Student

When a Student needs to change Classes:

  1. open Change Class;
  2. select the enrolled Course;
  3. select the destination Class;
  4. review Teacher, Start Date and capacity information;
  5. run Conflict Detection;
  6. confirm the change.

If a conflict is shown, review the conflict time and related Class before deciding whether to continue.

Closing and deleting are different

  • Close Class ends the normal lifecycle of the Class.
  • Delete carries a current warning that the data cannot be recovered.

Do not confuse Close Class with the Student-course lifecycle action Close Course; they operate on different objects.

Do not use Delete as a substitute for the normal Class-closing process.
