Ten tips for teachers to improve their teaching abilities

1. Carefully prepare before class.

Unleash your creativity and come up with ways to capture students' attention. As soon as students enter the classroom, their minds should be activated. Carefully prepare some teaching related equipment and devices to arouse their curiosity and stimulate their thinking before class. For example, having students guess word puzzles, a set of interesting thinking questions, some surprising statistical data, a cartoon related to classroom teaching,

2.The first three minutes after the bell rings are used to liven up the classroom atmosphere.

Please ask students to raise their hands and answer a question related to the class of the day. Students can also write down their answers or have group discussions. At the beginning of class, strive to create a positive and proactive atmosphere, rather than letting students passively listen to the lecture.

3. Plan carefully and comprehensively.

A classroom that progresses smoothly always attracts students' attention without interruption. The smooth progress of classroom teaching is due to the teacher's careful planning and organization in advance, which has nothing to do with the teacher's personal charm. Spend some time preparing materials before class, so that the teacher knows how to do each step and most things are expected. Serious preparation helps create a well-organized atmosphere.

4. Clearly define the purpose of each class.

Every day, you should ask yourself this question: 'What can students learn in my classroom?' Unfortunately, some teachers have not yet realized this, and their goals are only limited to teaching textbook knowledge.

5. Let your students know your purpose.

Let them know what they should gain from classroom teaching. Of course, if your own goals are not clear, you cannot give students clear goals. Once the goals are clear, students will find it easier to grasp the teaching content.

6. Break down complex student tasks and gradually explain them to students in logical order.

Only when students master basic skills can they impart more complex techniques. If you cannot achieve gradual progress, you and your students will inevitably fail.

7.Encourage students to share their knowledge and perspectives with others in the classroom.

Everyone has their own potential and some kind of special talent. If students are willing to contribute and share them with others, other students will benefit from it.

8.Consciously linking classroom teaching with students' daily lives.

Using students' interests as a starting point, provide them with various opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom to daily life and try to solve problems in life.

9. Use various visual devices - slides, pictures, props, demonstration films, advertising posters.

Generally speaking, people's learning is mainly through visual means. If the information conveyed by the teacher has both visual and auditory effects, it is certainly best.

10. Keep moving during lectures

If you always sit in front of the podium and speak, it can easily make students lose their excitement. And speaking while sitting makes your voice more monotonous. Another benefit of walking while speaking is that you can better organize the classroom and intervene in various behaviors that disrupt classroom discipline at any time.
